News

We know that teens are not willing to share a lot of information about school with their parents. That can make it difficult to know what is going on at school. You can rest easy knowing we’ve included the most important information for you here on our news page. Check in frequently as we update this page often for you.

COVID-19 Mitigation Plan

The Tolleson Union High School District (TUHSD) takes the safety and security of its students and staff very seriously. As a result, our district has been planning the specifics for how schools will conduct daily operations for when in-person learning takes place. This plan explains in detail what our mitigation strategies will be in order to give the public confidence that we are doing absolutely everything possible to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 (coronavirus). Response and Clarification Regarding Mask-wearing at School Campuses

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Recently, you may have heard that Arizona Governor Doug Ducey issued Executive Order 2021-06 with regards to rolling back facial covering requirements across the state of Arizona.

We want to be clear that this does not rescind Governor Ducey’s previous Executive Order 2020-51 or the emergency order from Arizona Department of Health Services Emergency Measure 2020-04. Please know that everyone is required to wear a mask on school property. Wearing a mask is still one of the top mitigation strategies for safe in-person learning as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

As a reminder, we still expect that masks be worn throughout the campus for your safety and that of our teachers, support staff, and administrators. In addition, TUHSD and school mitigation strategies remain in place. These include required and correct use of masks at all times; physical distancing of 6 feet (to the greatest extent possible); handwashing and respiratory etiquette; cleaning and maintaining facilities; and monitoring of cases with Contact Tracing in combination with isolation/quarantine.

Thank you.

Gracias.
